Orfeo was our Lusitano patriarch, originally bred at Rancho La Jarilla by Gaston Santos in Mexico. He was a bullfighting horse for Gaston Santos, Jr., before he was imported to the USA. He was an amazing stallion, gentle and kind for his rider but full of brio and charisma for the performance arena. His competitive career started later in his life, but he was still able to debut at Prix St. Georges before retiring from the show arena and becoming a demo and lesson horse until the age of 29. He loved to work, to teach students, and to perform. His foals are exceptional with wonderful temperaments, correct conformation, and beautiful movement. His passing has left a hole in our hearts, as he was such an amazing, special boy. 

We have frozen semen left from Orfeo that we intend to use on our own mares. We also have two amazing colts by Orfeo out of Evita JC: Qorazon, a cremello colt who is almost a carbon copy of his sire in a cream coat, and Romeo, a tall, leggy young man who is partially owned by Don Paulhus in California. We intend to have them both APSL tested for breeding approval in the near future.
