Our Birds

We are home to several different barnyard birds, including peafowl, chickens, ducks, and geese. Staying true to our mission to preserve rare breeds, our birds include Tufted Roman Geese, White-Faced Black Spanish chickens, Buff Orpington ducks, and more. While our poultry-raising efforts have been more barnyard focused, we hope to concentrate our poultry efforts and start breeding and selling young birds and hatching eggs. However, the biggest purpose of our poultry is to reduce the number of flies and other nuisance insects. They are amazingly effective! Our ducks love to pick beetles off the garden plants, and our geese are “watchdogs” for the other birds. As our flock grows, we hope to sell eggs to the local community.
