SUMMARY:Biomechanics Symposium at Bridlewood Dressage
DESCRIPTION:Ever been curious about biomechanics for your riding? Join us for a weekend of learning and practice! Covering both equine and human principles\, this weekend will provide a deep dive into the science of riding while also providing tools for you to integrate this knowledge into your everyday practice. Hosted by Bridlewood Dressage but given by our instructor\, access a weekend of learning in a picturesque setting in Hillsdale\, NY. Meals provided are sourced locally from organic ingredients. \nFriday evening will start the symposium off with dinner and an introductory lecture introducing principles that apply to both horses and humans. Saturday will start with a rider biomechanics lecture and a group Pilates/calisthenics session\, followed by a lunch and then a longe lesson on your or one of our horses (up to 3 available). Dinner will offer a chance for discussion and further Q&A to recap the day. Sunday will start with horse biomechanics lecture and demonstration followed by lunch and then private lessons. \nUp to 5 participant slots available for lessons and fitness sessions\, but auditing is unlimited. SUMMARY:Introduction to Rossfechten
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an introduction to Rossfechten (mounted fencing)! This workshop will go over some of the basics of Rossfechten with a mounted demonstration\, followed by an optional group lesson in the afternoon. Prior riding experience required for the group lesson\, and please bring horses that play well with others\, as you’ll be going into closer quarters with each other. Maximum of 4 in the group lesson; if more are interested\, we’ll do two group lessons\, so if all slots are sold\, send us a message\, and we’ll open up a second group lesson slot! Price is $30 for the morning workshop and demo\, $80 for the workshop and group lesson. Lodging potentially available. DESCRIPTION:Kick off your springtime riding with a biomechanics workshop! This two-day workshop goes over the fundamentals of biomechanics for both horse and rider. Saturday will focus on the horse with examining how their body works and how to help them work more efficiently. Sunday will focus on rider biomechanics including a private 30-minute session on Maestro\, our Equicizer\, to help give you a custom look at your seat and ways you can optimize it. You can either bring your own saddle for Maestro or use one of ours! 8 slots available at $250 for both days (lunch included). Contact us for more information!

SUMMARY:Tools for Training: History of Dressage
DESCRIPTION:We’re restarting our seminar series! We’re kicking off with a popular subject\, which is a survey of the history of dressage and how it came to be what it is today. Starting with ancient times\, this survey goes over significant riders and authors that have influenced the art\, when different movements appeared\, and how dressage was used in battle. Feel free to bring a potluck dish to share (completely optional but makes it fun). The lecture is approximately one hour long with a Q&A session at the end. Tickets for the seminar are $15 apiece.

SUMMARY:Dancing with Lipizzans: The Work In-Hand and in Long Reins
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a demonstration of in-hand and long reins! This art form displays how horses perform the different movements but without a rider on their back\, just through the reins with the rider walking. We’ll be showing two different approaches to in-hand and where they come from as well as the culmination of the work from the ground: the art of long-reining. Generally reserved for performances at the riding schools in Europe\, we’re bringing them here to the mountains of North Carolina! Admission is $20/adult\, $15 for children ages 4-12; contact for group children rates. Tickets can be purchased at the door with cash\, Venmo\, or Zelle\, or they can be purchased here on the website! We have quite a bit of seating\, but bring a chair or picnic blanket in case we run out! Doors open at 10:30.
